This is how we pulled Martin out of the black cloak of death at the theater

True story. Huge theater hall. Women in long dresses, earrings and hair up, sit down. Men in suits, jovial and excited, they lean back in their seats. 500 people in the theater. Cabaret at Aarhus Theatre. A musical with song and dance, joie de vivre and sexuality.

And at that very moment a voice calls out into the room. "Is there a doctor present?"
I guess you're always a bit of a doctor.

I straddle 3-4 long legs and come out on the side of the room. A man lies long on the floor. His shirt is ripped open so his chest is bare, a young man with outstretched arms presses rhythmically on his sternum. The guy in cardiac arrest is called Martin(*), it is said . They started CPR within 30 seconds of him collapsing. Good work! Quick help counts twice.

"Defibrillator!", I shout. See that it has already arrived, standing at the foot of the man in cardiac arrest. A woman next to the man feels for the pulse. The young woman at his head counts to 30 to support the rhythm of the CPR. I sit behind the top of his head. Stop. She gives him 2 puffs.

"We must ask the audience to leave the hall," a serious man's voice comes over the loudspeakers. Cautiously, 500 people stand up...
