It moves in the darkness behind you. He is 57, maybe 62 - about that. Maybe his name is Allan, Lars or Ambiorn, man anyway. Since you were 18 and ran away from home, you've been running from your father's shadow. Damn! You run down North Street, you've done that all your life - that street is endless - but now you stop. You have suddenly become half-old, your body is aging, you must stop running! Because he is standing down there at the intersection at the end of North Street, death. You can see him! Behind you, your father's shadow. You exhale, grab a chair on the pavement, tell the waiter says to bring you something, one or the other, you don't care. On the personal run through life, I've had quite a bit of trouble with men my age when their father's shadow catches up with them. It's not pretty, but it's easy to understand. All escape ends one day. We get tired, we do. It is natural and extremely painful. Capow.
